Salvia likes a mild climate, sufficient sunlight, moist air and fertile soil. If the light is insufficient and the temperature is low during the growth period, the seedlings grow slowly and the plants are stunted. Under the conditions of an annual average temperature of 17.1°C and an average relative humidity of 77%, the growth and development are good. It is suitable for growing on fertile sandy loam soil, and does not require high soil pH. It can be planted in neutral, slightly acidic and slightly alkaline soils.
(1) Transplant after seedling. Drilling is carried out in April in the northern region. After sowing, the soil is covered by 0.3 cm. After sowing, water is applied, and plastic film is applied to keep the soil moist. The seedlings emerge in about 15 days; transplanted in the field.
(2) Live broadcast. Sowing in mid-April in northern regions can be done by drilling or hole-seeding. Propagation by planting in the same plant spacing and rooting, 5-10 seeds per hole. Drilling to keep the ditch about 1 cm deep, covering soil 0.6 cm -1 cm, the planting rate per mu is about 0.5 kg. In case of drought, it should be watered before sowing. About half a month after sowing, the seedlings emerge, and the seedlings are 6 cm high and the seedlings are thinned.
