Propagation by seed. The best time for sowing is in late July. The seedbed should be under the melon and yam trellis first. The 667-square-meter field uses 40-50 grams of seed, and the seedbed area is 10 square meters. After leveling the seedbed, water it thoroughly, mix the seeds with fine sand evenly, cover with fine soil after sowing, and then cover with wet straw to keep the seedlings moist. After 60% of the seedlings emerge, remove the cover grass, and then cover it with a shading net to cool and moisturise the seedlings. The seedling age is 30-35 days, and 4-5 full-leaf strong seedlings are cultivated.
The suitable time for transplanting is from late August to early September. Before transplanting, use 150 grams of diluthamide against 50 kilograms of water per 667 square meters, and spray the topsoil to prevent weeds. Grab transplanting in the afternoon on a cloudy day before Bailu. Plant 4 rows per border, with a size of 30 cm*20 cm, one plant with soil and strong seedlings per hole, and 8500-9000 plants per 667 square meters. After planting, water containing 0.2% urea was applied to fix the roots. On the second day after planting, if it is sunny and dry, the horse water should be irrigated in the evening to make the border soaked.
