Description

Our plump fully mature peach seeds have stable germination rate and strong seed vitality. Peach tree is a widely planted temperate deciduous fruit tree with excellent cold resistance and strong environmental adaptability. It blooms gorgeous pink flowers in early spring with high ornamental value, and bears sweet, juicy peaches in summer with great edible value.
It is worth noting that seedlings grown directly from peach stones have highly unstable fruit quality, mostly small fruits with poor flavor, which are mainly used as rootstock for grafting improved nectarine, flat peach and crisp peach varieties. Grafted fine varieties can stably bear high-quality fruits within 2–3 years. Widely applied for family courtyard orchard construction, mountain economic fruit forest development, park spring flower landscape layout and nursery stock rootstock breeding. Peach trees prefer deep, loose, fertile and well-drained slightly acidic loam soil; waterlogged low-lying land and heavy sticky clay soil are strictly forbidden to avoid root rot, poor growth and low fruit yield. Daily management focuses on full sunlight, timely drainage, annual pruning for ventilation and reasonable fertilization, a classic dual-purpose tree for flower viewing and fruit harvesting.

Planting Instructions

  1. Soil Preparation
    Mix deep garden topsoil, coarse river sand and decomposed organic fertilizer to make loose breathable planting substrate. Adopt elevated seedbeds for field sowing to quickly drain rainwater and prevent long-term water accumulation. Avoid compacted heavy clay soil with poor permeability.
  2. Seed Pre-treatment
    Peach seeds have deep physiological dormancy. Remove residual pulp on the hard stone shell, soak in clean room-temperature water for 24 hours, then carry out 60–90 days cold moist sand stratification under 2–5°C low temperature environment. Sow in early spring when seed shells crack and white radicles emerge. Without low-temperature stratification, germination will be scattered and the rate extremely low.
  3. Sowing Method
    Adopt strip sowing on seedbeds, bury treated peach pits 3–4 cm deep in moist soil, cover thin fine soil and slightly compact the surface. Row spacing 30 cm, seed spacing 10 cm. Direct seeding is recommended; transplant seedlings with complete soil balls to reduce root damage. Important reminder: seedling rootstocks must be grafted with superior peach varieties to obtain delicious commercial fruits.
  4. Germination Condition
    Keep substrate slightly moist without standing water, optimal germination temperature 15–26°C. Concentrated germination occurs within 25–40 days after sowing. Cover breathable plastic film before seedling emergence to stabilize temperature and humidity, remove covering timely after sprouts break through soil.
  5. Daily Maintenance
    Place peach seedlings under full sunlight all year round; long-term shade causes spindly saplings, weak branches and difficulty in blooming and fruiting later. Reduce watering frequency sharply in rainy seasons to prevent root rot and damping-off disease. Thin overcrowded seedlings at 12 cm height, trim overlapping, inward and diseased branches annually to open up canopy light transmission. Apply diluted fruit tree fertilizer twice in spring and summer to accelerate sapling growth.
