Description
Forsythia (Latin scientific name: Forsythia suspensa): It is a deciduous shrub belonging to the class Dicotyledon, Pleurotus, Trifoliaceae, and Forsythia. Forsythia suspensa blooms in early spring, with a light fragrance, full of golden branches, gorgeous and lovely. It is an excellent flowering shrub in early spring. The plant height can reach 3 meters, with clusters of branches, yellow branchlets, arched drooping, and hollow. The leaves are opposite, single or three leaflets, ovoid or ovate-elliptic, with teeth on the margin. The corolla is yellow, with 1-3 in the leaf axils; the fruit is ovoid, ovate-elliptic or oblong, with a beak-like tip and sparse lenticels on the surface; the fruit stalk is 0.7-1.5 cm long. Flowering period from March to April, fruit period from July to September.
It grows in hillside shrubs, forests or grasses, or valleys, ravines and sparse forests, 250-2200 meters above sea level. The fruit can be used as medicine. Produced in China's Hebei, Shanxi, Shaanxi, Shandong, Western Anhui, Henan, Hubei, and Sichuan.
