Growing environment
It likes coolness, is resistant to cold and drought, and is afraid of heat and waterlogging. It is suitable for planting in sandy loam soil with deep soil layer, rich humus and strong water permeability. Strong saline-alkali soil is not suitable for planting. The root can grow vertically up to 1 meter or more, commonly known as "Whipstick Qi". The soil sticky and heavy roots grow slowly and deformed; the soil layer is thin, the roots are more horizontal, the branches are many, and the quality is poor. Avoid continuous cropping, and do not rotate with potatoes and flax. The seed hard rate can reach 30%-60%. In the year of direct seeding, only stems and leaves will grow without flowering, and the second year will bloom and produce seeds.
Cultivation method
1. Land selection: Mountainous and mid-mountainous areas with sunny terrain, deep soil layers, and fertile sandy loam soils or brown forest soils. For flat land, choose sandy loam soil or accumulated soil with higher topography, strong water permeability and low groundwater level, avoid white mud soil, saline-alkali soil, clay loam soil and stagnant meadow soil.
2. Land preparation: deep ploughing and applying manure or compost 2500 kg per mu, superphosphate 25--30 kg. After ploughing, make a furrow, 120 cm wide and 30 cm high.
3. Propagation: Astragalus is propagated by seeds.
field management
Soil loosening and weeding: manual weeding is the same as field crops. Herbicides can also be used, that is, 150 grams of trifluralin per acre at or after sowing, or 200 grams per acre of Lasso.
Top dressing: ammonium sulfate in early May, 5 kg-15 kg per mu, urea in early June, 7-10 kg per mu, superphosphate in early July, 50 kg per mu, and manure 2000 kg.
Sharpening: Sharpening at night in July to reduce nutrient consumption.
Drainage and irrigation: pay attention to drainage in the rainy season. During drought, the seedling stage and the greening stage should be properly irrigated.
